Madi Campaign

Madi remembered

After the verdict was handed down for the woman who killed Madison Ann Cundiff, it became clear that we can't quit fighting for Justice. Sarah Taylor will do no more then 5 years in jail for killing this precious little girl. She was not convicted of murder, but was convicted of Reckless Homicide which carries a maximum sentence of 5 years. We accept this because we have no choice, but we can fight to raise awareness of these facts and let others who deal with the same issues know we are here to keep fighting for them. Maybe others will benefit from what this family has suffered. Maybe another child will get true justice. Maybe more abusers will get the punishment they deserve.

This is not the verdict we were all hoping for, and it will be one which hardly compares to the loss Madi's family will feel from now on.

It became clear to me that we must keep fighting because Madi is not the only victim who has received such a minimal sense of justice. Many are still waiting for some form of justice. There are still many who have not even had the benefit of a trial, and the abusers roam free while the family lives with their pain.

Too many children are dying at the hands of others who are suppose to be caring for them. It is time to take the fight far and wide. It is time to get serious and to let the abusers, who commit these horrible crimes against our children, know that we are not going to allow them to get away with it.

It is because of this and many other factors that I have decided to launch, The Madi Campaign.

Mission of the Madi Campaign

This is only the beginning. This campaign will know no limits or boundaries.

The mission of this campaign is:
* To continue to raise awareness of Child Abuse.
* To tell the stories of victims and their familes.
* To offer support to the victims and their families in whatever means is available.
* To launch petitions when necessary or speak out when we feel a victim and family did not get the justice they needed.
* To post Madi's Picture all over the internet as a representation of the loss of our children as a result of Child Abuse. (Madi is the TLTH poster child of Child Abuse, and what it represents. She represents the loss of something which is the most precious. Her precious little face will remind people that she was once a very sweet and lively little girl who will never grow up because someone shook her to death. Someone ended her life and will only serve a max of 5 years for the crime. Madi is the angel who will guide all our efforts.)
* To never give up hope that we all can make a difference if we care.
* To seek justice and to get law makers to make the guilty pay a heavy price for hurting our children.
* To use the internet as a tool of activism so that children will not have to suffer.
* To inform the guilty that there are people out there who are going to keep fighting until all kids are safe in their homes.
* To Inform these abusers, that though it may appear they are getting away with their crimes, there are people fighting who will one day see this change. They can't hide their crimes forever. We will fight until they all get the punishment they deserve.
* To do whatever we can to see changes take place which will benefit children, reduce the numbers of children dying, and to aid families who are fighting for justice for children abused and killed by Child Abuse.

This is all part of the Commitment of all TLTH sites and programs to make our homes and communities safe for all.

What can you do to support The Madi Campaign?

There is no limit to what you can do. You are the deciding factor in this effort. Any effort you make in the area of Child Abuse is supporting this Campaign.

Some activities which will help.

1. Placing graphics on your site, in Email signatures, Email texts, blogs, forums, My Space, or anyplace else which will spread the messages her graphics represent. Any graphics placed here are available. They have been made by me, but feel free to use them. Link them to this page or provide a text link to it. You may also make your own, but let me know that you have done so by posting here.

The main banner for this campaign is located below.

Madi Campaign
link it using http://tlth.org/madicamp.htm.

2. Launch your own campaigns on Child Abuse.

3. Write poetry, make graphics, or any other representation on Child Abuse. You may place them on your own site or send them to me and I will create another page to display them from this site. Email them to becky188@gmail.com

4. Report abuses, sign petitions, talk to legislators, help when asked, or anything else you can think of to help promote the cause and bring the criminals to justice. There is no limit.

5. Basically, anything which will honor the mission of The Madi Campaign is supporting and helping with the campaign.

The only wrong effort is no effort.

We must fight for those who are unable to fight for themselves to end the madness of abuse. All children should be safe. This is our goal.

I will not place a list of those who will be supporting this campaign. I will leave this to each individual. You may Email me at becky188@gmail.com to let me know how you are supporting this campaign.
