Scripture Reading ... Luke 23:32-43
Jesus suffered many tortures before He was crucified. He was mocked and ridiculed throughout the whole process. Yet, Jesus had the heart of forgiveness. He forgave those who were responsible for His death. He knew His death was important to save the world, and He paid the price willingly.
In His darkest hour, He was able to help one of thieves hanging with Him. The one theif was saved and promised a place in heaven.
When we are suffering, we can often find peace within ourselves by helping someone who is in need. I have many times gained strength during a troubled time by helping someone else. We must always remember that as great as our pain may seem or as bad as our situation may be, there is always someone worse off or suffering from greater distress. We can gain hope and strength during our bad times by helping others.
